  • Having received the English Premier League 'Manager of the Month' award for January, Southampton's Ronald Koeman on Friday (5th February) considered the visit of West Ham United on Saturday evening (6th February).

SOUNDBITE: (English) Ronald Koeman, Southampton manager:

(On Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and comments made in tunnel following Tuesday's 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium.)

"No, what was written in the press that was true... and that's all. It's emotions in football and it happened and, okay, we go on and not any more comments about that."

Reporter: Do you stand by what you said at the time? Do you regret saying what you said?

RK: "Yes (I stand by what I said)... if I talk is that what I mean? Of course."

Reporter: Will it affect your relationship though going forward?

RK: "No, I don't think so. I think it's always a little bit emotions. And of course, maybe he was very disappointed about the result because they had some good chances... but if you don't score...(Koeman shrugs)."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Ronald Koeman, Southampton manager:

    (On West Ham United match):

"I think the confidence is totally back in the team after the last few results, and we have a big game tomorrow against West Ham because it's still a gap (in the league table) between West Ham and Southampton and we like to make that distance shorter than it is now."
