Aston Villa manager Remi Garde talked on Friday (5th February) ahead of his embattled side's English Premier League game at home to Norwich City on Saturday.

(Q. Why did Aston Villa not sign any new players during the January transfer window?)

"I cannot answer this question and you know that. The transfer window is behind us now and speaking again about it won't help me - won't help anybody - to win the next game, which is focusing 100 per cent of my energy, and for the players as well. Regarding the players I've got now until the end of the season, I think it was not easy for them to read everything about the transfer window and now it would be even more difficult to say, we should, or we could have. I don't want to act in this way, they are with me, I am with this group of players, and I want to stick with them and to try to do our best, you know."

"Yes. This is the club's role and it is the same for everybody."
