Elena Vesnina and Bruno Soares took the mixed doubles title at the Australian Open on Sunday (31st January) following a 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 victory over Coco Vandeweghe and Hora Tecau.

And victory went to Soares and Vesnina who triumphed two sets to one to take the championship.

It has been a busy few hours for Soares who also tasted victory in the men’s doubles with his partner Jamie Murray on Saturday.

Not a bad start to the year for the 33-year-old Brazilian.

So all that was left was for the trophy to be lifted as the curtain comes down on another Australian Open tournament.
