  • Australia's former cricket captain Michael Clarke announces his comeback from retirement (31st January).

SOUNDBITE: (English) Michael Clarke, Former Australian Cricket Captain (confirming his return)

"Yeah, well I guess I am coming back, I'm playing for Western Suburbs, I'm playing for my grade cricket club. So, really excited. I started with them at 13 years of age, they invited me to come back and play the weekend of the 20th and 21st of February and you know, I think it's a great opportunity to be able to give back to my club. I know there's been a lot of talk about the international side of things, I've very much focused on playing one game for Western Suburbs and then assessing after that, and if I do love it and enjoy it and miss it, like I'm hoping I do, then my focus will be 100 percent based on the shorter format of the game."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Michael Clarke, Former Australian Cricket Captain (on not regretting his decision to retire)

"I don't regret it one bit at all. I retired for a number of reasons for myself, for my family and for the Australian cricket team. I think it was the right time to walk away from international cricket and like I said, I really loved being home, birth of my little girl, being around my family, some other opportunities outside of cricket I've been able to you know dip my toe in and get involved in business, which I've really loved. So now, you know, that won't change. It's a game of club cricket."
