Lawrie on brink of history in Qatar

  • Paul Lawrie holds a two-stoke lead heading into the final round as he looks to become the first man to win the Qatar Open three times.

Paul Lawrie is on the brink of making history in Qatar. After a bogie free 70 he holds a two-stroke lead heading into the final round as he looks to become the first man to win this tournament three times.

Two players are tied in second. Denmark's Thorbjorn Olesen who shot a 69 today...

And Branden Grace who shot up the leaderboard with three birdies on the final three holes.

A further shot back is Rafa Cabrera-Bello and this man Tommy Fleetwood, he also sank birdies on the final three.

Sergio Garcia looked a real threat in the second round but he couldn't reproduce that on Friday. Three bogies and a double bogie were slightly sweetened by this eagle on the last. He is now seven shots off Lawrie though and unlikely to be the man who stops history being made.
