Movistar Team presented their riders for the 2016 season at a ceremony in Madrid, Spain on Wednesday (27th January).
SOUNDBITE (Spanish): Alejandro Valverde, Movistar cyclist:
"I'm reaching a certain point in my career, I´m turning 36 and I have never participated in the Giro d´Italia. I think it´s time. I´m still in shape and I can do very well. So I have spoken to the directors and we have scheduled a calendar which is totally different to previous years. I have to try it, this is the perfect time."
SOUNDBITE (Spanish): Nairo Quintana, Movistar cyclist:
"It wasn't easy to come back with high expectations, but obviously the idea was to win. I was second (in Tour de France 2015) thanks to my mates, who helped me a lot. This year the season is going very well so far and we keep on dreaming about the yellow jersey."
SOUNDBITE (English): Alex Dowsett, Movistar cyclist:
"I made life difficult when I broke my collar bone (in training accident in January 2015) and I think it was the epitome of training hard and fighting easy. We know we can go back and go quicker so I hope over the next year or two we´ll get the opportunity to do that too (broke World Hour record in May 2015)".
SOUNDBITE (English): Alex Dowsett, Movistar cyclist:
"At the moment targets this year are the (Giro d') Italia so I think Olympic selection is actually going to be quite difficult for me, especially with how hilly it is. So I think if I can show well in the time trials in the Giro, then maybe that can set me up well for Olympic selection. At the moment that´s what the team and I are thinking."
