Professional rodeo cowboys and cowgirls take to the ski slopes at the 42nd Annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Cowboys are well used to the dangers of the desert but perhaps not ski slopes.
No definitely not ski slopes.
Although remarkably this is the 42nd annual Cowboy Downhill in Colorado. 75 professional rodeo cowboys and cowgirls swapped their bulls and broncs for skis and snowboards.
Some of their old skills do come in handy here, such as using a lasso. And saddling up what must be a very cold horse.
Grant Denny a bareback rider from Nevada, was the best at this, completing the course in just 28.61 seconds.
The highlight of the day is the stampede, a winner takes all race to the finish.
Jesse Kirby was the first to cross the line, making him the fastest cowboy in the west, on snow.
