  • Team Sky's Chris Froome talked about the year ahead on Tuesday in Mallorca, Spain.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Froome, Team Sky:

    (On aims for the season.)

"My priority for the season is to get back to the Tour de France... to get back to the Tour de France in my best condition possible. And being an Olympic year, of course that's going to be a big focus for me as well, to try and come out of the Tour de France and hopefully go on to Rio to do the best I can over there."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Froome, Team Sky:

(On the 2016 Tour de France.)

"The course in this year's Tour de France certainly suits me a lot better than it did last year, so hopefully if things go to plan it should go alright for me. But it's going to take a lot of hard work, it's certainly not going to be any easier than last year. The one difference is that this year we do have more time trials in the tour and that will make it a lot more of a well-rounded race and more of a battle between different riders."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Froome, Team Sky:

(On main Tour de France rivals.)

"At the moment I think Nairo Quintana (Colombia, Movistar team), who's finished second in the Tour de France twice now, and Alberto Contador (Spain, Tinkoff team), who everybody knows, will be back to his best this year. So I think I'm definitely going to have my hands full with those guys."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Froome, Team Sky:

(On releasing riding power data during the 2015 Tour de France.)

"I was happy to be more transparent, to be able to put the data out to what people had been asking. There were people asking me to do the tests , and in the interests of transparency I was happy to put that data out there"
