  • Peter Prevc leads the Four Hills field heading to Austria with day's longest jump.

Consistent brilliance from Slovenian ski jumper Peter Prevc in Germany on Friday: he jumped 136 metres in the second leg of the Four Hills World Cup Event to beat Severin Freund of Germany and Norway's Kenneth Gangnes.

The victory at Garmisch-Partenkirchen on New Year's Day means Prevc leads the competition with two events to go.

He headed the field after his first jump of 133.5 metres and then went on to make the longest jump of the day. He finished with a winning total of 272.7 points.

Gangnes of Norway - here seen making his second effort of 134 metres - capitalised on a first jump of 132 metres to come in second with a total of 260.1 points.

He overtook this man Severin Freund - the winner in the opening leg in Oberstdorf in Germany earlier this week.

The German is now second in the Four Hills standings going into the penultimate event on Sunday in Innsbruck.
