  • Andy Murray reflects on Davis Cup win

After winning the Davis Cup in style the Great Britain took time to celebrate their victory with the Wheelchair Masters players and school children.
Andy Murray was instrumental in team GB's victory winning both his singles rubbers and the doubles match with his brother Jamie.
Murray's three-set victory over Belgium's David Goffin secured Great Britain's first Davis Cup since 1936.

    SOUNDBITE (English) Andy Murray:

"Tennis is such an individual sport all of the year and now to win the Davis Cup was doing something for your country and with your team. A lot of these guys are my friends, and Jamie is obviously my brother as well.

This was Britain's tenth Davis Cup win and another major title for Murray to add to his Wimbledon, US Open and Olympic crowns.

    SOUNDBITE (English) Andy Murray:

"It's not just been over the course of two weeks. This has happened over really five years to get to this point and it would be stupid not to enjoy a lot of hard work and effort from all the players and all of the support team and the captain have gone into this and it was great to spend it with all of them."

It now remains to be seen whether the Great Britain team can defend their title next year
