  • Rio 2016 chief spoke about criticism of a Badminton test event on Monday (30th November) during an announcement of a new sponsor for the 2016 Paralympic Games.

    "That's what test events are for. The test event is to see what we need to adjust. They (Badminton Athletes) praised everything, it was a success. I think that these test events that Rio are holding are the best in the history. The adjustments will be important because we hear the athletes to see what we can improve for them."

    "Look, it's hard to talk about what happens in other cities. I prefer, as an ethical issue, to not make any comment. the only thing I can say is that today Rio has 62 percent of approval rating in the entire country, an extraordinary thing. It's better than London (2012) considering this period of eight months for the Games. We are comfortable and happy with Rio where it is. On the others, well, each one will take care of its own part."
