  • After missing out on the 2015 MotoGP World Championship, Valentino Rossi swaps two wheels for four and wins the 2015 Monza Rally in Italy for the fourth time on Sunday (29th November).

After missing out on the 2015 World Championship, MotoGP legend and three-time winner Valentino Rossi won his fourth Monza Rally title on Sunday.

Il Dottore swapped 2 wheels for 4 and drove a Ford Fiesta in the event in Italy, holding a lead of more than 33 seconds over his compatriot and Motocross star Tony Cairoli coming into the final two stages.

But it was Belgium's Thierry Neuville who posed the greatest threat to Rossi in the end.

Hyundai WRC driver Neuville made a late charge by taking victory in the SS8, but his chances of causing an upset in the final stage lay in Rossi suffering a mechanical problem.

Rossi had no such trouble and took the chequered flag in style by winning SS9, five laps of a course totalling 32.5 kilometres, with Roberto Brivio in second place, 4.8 seconds back.

Neuville held on to second overall by finishing fourth on the final stage - 13.4 seconds behind Rossi - He claimed the runners-up position by 12.6 seconds from Brivio.

Rossi and co-driver Carlo Cassina had previously won in 2006, 2007 and 2012.
