Wins for Ajax & PSV in Eredivisie

Monday, November 30 2015 by SNTV
  • PSV Eindhoven stayed in touch with the leaders in the Dutch Eredivisie, after a 3-0 win at home against AZ Alkmaar on Sunday (29th November).

Ajax started Sunday top of the Eredivisie on goal difference from Feyenoord after the Rotterdammers hit four on Saturday.

They travelled to Zwolle a side who won 5-0 at Roda last time out.

Into the 36th minute and what appeared to be a routine catch for Zwolle keeper Kevin Begois turned into a horror show.

Amin Younes the man who couldn't believe his luck.

Zwolle's best effort came from substitute Stefan Nijland in the 51st minute.

Yet it was an Ajax replacement, Thulani Serero, who doubled Ajax's lead after good work by Lasse Schone.

In Sunday's late game, the Champions, PSV Eindhoven, were at home to AZ Alkmaar.

Ajax's victory meant they started play four points off the leader.

It didn't take long for them to go ahead.

Derrick Luckassen heading into his own net inside three minutes.

PSV came again 10 minutes later. Joshua Brenet bursting down the left to setup Luuk de Jong.

And four minutes before half-time the match was effectively over as a contest when PSV winger Gaston Periro teed up de Jong for his second - and PSV's third goal.

A bad day got even worse for AZ in the second half when Luckassen was shown a red card after appearing to strike de Jong as the pair challenged for the ball.

PSV stay third but are now just one point behind second-placed Feyenoord, while AZ are down in 10th place.
