  • Arsene Wenger said he did not regret his decision to play Alexis Sanchez on Sunday (29 November) after the forward was injured during Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Norwich City.

SOUNDBITE (English) Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager:

"Maybe the turning point of the game was at 1-0 we dropped off straightaway and allowed them back into the game. We had to dig deep to get through and we were a bit jaded. We lost (Alexis) Sanchez, (Santi) Cazorla played on one leg. It was a fair point for Norwich. And on the injury front it was a bad afternoon for us."

Question: "Do you regret playing Sanchez?"

Wenger: "No. The players are there to play football and not to be rested when the press decides that they should be rested. He says it's a kick on his hamstring. I believe that's not the reality. I fear that it's not the reality."
