Jordan Spieth three off the lead in Sydney

  • Matt Jones' lead at the Australian Open cut to three shots by defending champion Jordan Spieth after the third round

The third round of the Australian Open and fans of all ages were out to enjoy the action

Putt of the day went to South Korea's Choi Joon-woo with this birdie from long range on the second.

Adam Scott recovered after a poor first two rounds, chipping in for this birdie at the third and then adding an eagle at the last for a three-under-par 68. At nine shots back on 1-under it was probably too little to late for Scott.

Defending champion Jordan Spieth had a horrible start, three bogeys before this birdie at the 12th meant his fortunes started to change.

Crowds were treated to this beauty from the world number one at the seventeenth. Spieth knocking in with an eight-iron for this eagle

Spieth shot a four-under-par 67 - and sits in second place.

Overnight leader Matt Jones held his nerve, putting from the fringe for a birdie at the seventeenth.

And there was another birdie on the eighteenth for a round of 68.

The Australian finished at ten-under, his lead might have been dented by Spieth, but he's still out in front by three shots heading into Sunday's final round.
