  • A late strike from Raffael gave Borussia Monchengladbach a 2-1 win over Hannover on Saturday (21st November).

Hertha Berlin reclaimed fourth place in the German Bundesliga standings with a 1-0 win over Hoffenheim at Berlin's Olympiastadion on Sunday (22nd November).

Andre Schubert impressed as interim head coach of Borussia Monchegladbach, but Saturday was his first game since taking up the role on a full time basis.

And they took the lead 10 minutes before half-time when Ibrahima Traore finished in sneaky fashion, poking the ball between goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler's legs.

Hannover did find an equaliser after the break.

A goal-mouth scramble saw the ball eventually fall to the feet of Polish striker Artur Sobiech who bundled it home to make it 1-1.

Schubert was not to be denied a win in first game as full-time head coach however.

Raffael latched on to Andreas Christensen's cross and rifled into the roof of the net to gift all three points to 'Gladbach.

Meanwhile, in Berlin, Hertha welcomed Hoffenheim on Sunday looking for a win that would see them move up into fourth.

The first half was played under heavy snowfall, and the home side found the lead through a Eugen Polanski own goal.

However, the referee and his assistants required the help of goal-line technology in order to determine that the ball had in fact crossed the line.

Conditions improved in the second half but Hoffenheim rarely threatened and the goal proved to be the difference between the sides.
