  • Standard and Kortrijk share the spoils after 1-1 draw in Liege

Standard Liege welcomed Kortrijk to the Stade Maurice Dufrasne on Sunday, in a mid-table encounter with just four points separating the teams.

And that proximity showed - there was little to choose between the sides in a lifeless first half.

The second half saw a little more intent from the players, however.

Adrien Trebel coming close for the hosts when he struck the bar with a free-kick with over an hour on the clock.

But it was Kortrijk who eventually took the lead - Athanasios Papazoglou prodding home from close in with just 11 minutes of game-time remaining.

    Their lead was short-lived, though.

Standard levelled just two minutes later when former Kortrijk striker Ivan Santini headed in a corner from even closer range, for his third league goal this season.

The draw means there is no change in the table for Standard Liege - they remain 11th with 18 points, while Kortrijk drop to 7th, with 22.
