  • Feyenoord went second in the Dutch Eredivisie on Sunday (22nd November) after thumping FC Twente 5-0 at De Kuip.

Feyenoord moved up to second place in the Dutch Eredivisie, after they thrashed struggling FC Twente 5-0 at home on Sunday.

Much to the fans' delight, the action started early on as Simon Gustafson opened the score for the home team in just the 7th minute.

And it was Gustafson who doubled the score 20 minutes later, after Twente goalie Drommel palmed away Kramer's initial effort.

Feyenoord were looking comfortable and extended their lead immediately after half-time. Kramer headed the ball home after a cross in from captain Dirk Kuyt, and the score was 3-0.

But the home team were far from done. Just less than 5 minutes later, Rick Karsdorp's cross was met by El Ahmadi's left foot, and they were now 4 nil up.

And it just wasn't Twente's day at all, as their luck worsened when Tim Holscher was shown a red card just one minute after coming on the pitch.

And Feyenoord's victory was signed, sealed delivered in stoppage time when Bilal Basacikoglu scored on the rebound following an effort by Kuyt. A great afternoon for Gio Van Bronckhorst's men, who are now just 3 points away from leaders Ajax.
