Sullivan leads McIlroy by one in Dubai

  • Andy Sullivan leads by one after the third round of the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai on Saturday (21st November) with Rory McIlroy a stroke behind after shooting 65.

    Round three of the DP World Tour Championship on Saturday and low scores across the board.

    Danny Willett needs to finish above Rory McIlroy to take the Race To Dubai Title. He finished five off the lead at 11-under.

    South Korean ace Byeong-hun An had his best round of the week, a 66, which featured four birdies in his closing six holes - including this one on the 18th.

    He finished the day tied for fourth on 12-under.

    It was Race To Dubai leader McIlroy who made the biggest move on the penultimate day with eight birdies.

    His superb third round of 65 sends him into second on 15-under-par.

    But for overnight leader Andy Sullivan It looked like McIlroy might finish the day at the top of the leaderboard.

    Sullivan performed well in his last four holes, carding a 68, and stays in front.

    The Englishman birdied the 15th and then picked up another shot on the 17th to move to 16-under. He leads by one going into the final round.

    A win for Sullivan on Sunday will make the DP World Tour Championship his fourth European Tour title of the season

    It would come six weeks after his victory at the Portugal Masters.
