SOUNDBITE (English) Tony Estanguet, Paris 2024 bid co-president

"For sure, we had very difficult days last week and after a few hours we were all separately feeling the same feeling, that we still have to fight for this bid."

SOUNDBITE (English) Tony Estanguet, Paris 2024 bid co-president(asked about the great support of other bidders)

"It's no matter anymore of competition, we are in the same spirit. We know that security is an international issue that all the countries will face. It's an international debate and politically I think it's going to be a key point to resolve this part. Sport also have its duty to play."

SOUNDBITE (English) Etienne Thobois, Paris 2024 CEO Etienne(asked if the wave of sympathy towards France is going to help the bid)

"I think, I don't know, and no one knows, but I think that is really reinforcing our determination is actually like you said, all the goodwill that we received from around the world, from the IOC to start with, and President Bach was fantastic, speaking on French television, but also from other bidding cities, from organising committees. And we are seeing that the whole sport, but further than that actually sent a lot of goodwill messages, and that brings us some responsibility to answer to that and to be up to the challenge. And I think we are more determined than ever."
