Wawrinka expecting 'difficult match against Murray'

Friday, November 20 2015 by SNTV
  • Stan Wawrinka spoke after his 7-5, 6-2 win over David Ferrer at the ATP Tour Finals in London on Wednesday (November 18th).

Andy Murray reflects on his straight sets loss to Rafael Nadal on Wednesday (18th November) at the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

    SOUNDBITE (English) Stan Wawrinka:

"Yeah, I'm really happy with the win. It wasn't easy at the beginning, I wasn't feeling great, playing well but I'm happy to turn that match, to start to play better. I think I started to be more tough with myself and tried to play more aggressive and at the end I was playing good tennis."

SOUNDBITE (English) Stan Wawrinka (on his next match against Andy Murray):

"Yeah, for sure, it's great to know that the winner (of the match) is going to qualify (for the semi-finals) and that's something good. It's going to be an interesting match. We didn't play (each other) for two years now, he's playing at home, he always plays well indoors or out so it's going to be a difficult match but let's see how I can feel, how I can start and how I can play against Andy."

SOUNDBITE (English) Andy Murray, lost 6-4, 6-1 to Rafael Nadal:

"He obviously played better here than he did when I played him earlier in the year. I think Rafa always practices pretty hard from what I see and he's won alot more matches in the second half of the year. He's clearly playing better tennis than a few months ago. I didn't help myself out there today. I served an extremely low percentage, maybe the lowest I've served all year in any match. It was in the low 40s in the second set, like 35 percent. That's not good enough against somebody as good as Rafa."
