Wawrinka battles back to beat Ferrer

  • Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka battled back from 4-1 down in the first set to overcome Spain's David Ferrer at the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

    Australian former world number one Lleyton Hewitt was honoured ahead Stan Wawrinka and David Ferrer's ATP World Tour Finals match in London on Wednesday evening.

    With the ceremonial proceedings over the players took to the court and it was the Spaniard who started brighter.

    Wawrinka found himself 4-1 down to Ferrer but soon roared back to life.

    He took the opener 7-5 following this unstoppable winner down the line.

    Ferrer struggled to keep with Wawrinka's level of play in the second set.

    The Swiss ran out the winner 6-2.

    A straight sets victory - he'll now play world number two Andy Murray for a place in the semi-finals.
