  • Roger Federer beat Tomas Berdych in straight sets on Sunday (15th November) - day one of ATP World Tour Finals in London.

Novak Djokovic opened the ATP World Tour Finals with a dominant performance over Kei Nishikori.

The evening session saw six-time champion at the Finals, Roger Federer take to the court looking to put his talents on display against sixth seed Tomas Berdych.

However, the Swiss started poorly as he lost the opening two games against his Czech opponent.

It didn't take long for the 17-time Grand Slam champion to fight back though, as he levelled the first set at 2-2.

Both players struggled to find their rhythm, Berdych getting less than 50 per cent of his first serves in during the opening set.

Nevertheless, Federer's experience told as he sealed the first set 6-4 and never looked back in the match.

He dominated the second to secure a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Berdych.

And can now look focus on improving his game ahead of the second group match against Djokovic on Tuesday.
