Pakistan yet to find 'winning combination' ahead of third ODI

  • Pakistan captain Azhar Ali admitted his side are still struggling to find the right combination heading into their third ODI against England in Sharjah on Tuesday (17th November).

    Sharjah will be the venue for the third one day encounter of the four-match series between Pakistan and England.

    The two teams head into the showdown with the series finely poised at 1-1.

    Having lost the first match by six wickets, England bounced back in the second ODI with a 95 run victory over the hosts.

    And they will looking to build on that momentum against a Pakistan side that is yet to find a winning combination, as highlighted by its captain, Azhar Ali:

    SOUNDBITE: (English), Azhar Ali:

    "We have a problem with the all rounders which - you know Hafeez are not allowed to bowl for one year. Plus now this time we have the injury of Imad Wasim, so you know these kind of problems always trouble you picking up the combination, the right combination."

    Despite the selection issues, Ali insisted that Pakistan's aim in the third match is to play a more positive brand of cricket.

    SOUNDBITE: (English), Azhar Ali:

    "I think we would like to play a lot more positive in this game and I think, Inshallah, that's the best thing these days in ODI cricket you need to push on."

    The third ODI between Pakistan and England gets underway on Tuesday.
