Rose Stenson and Siem look ahead to BMW Masters

  • Current champion Marcel Siem gets ready for the BMW Masters alongside Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson.

SOUNDBITE (English) Justin Rose, English golfer:

"I feel really good about my game. To be honest with you, getting back from Hong Kong (Hong Kong Open in October) it was more relaxed and (I could) recharge the batteries before, obviously, a bit of travelling and one final last-ditch effort to try and play well and overtake Rory (McIlroy) and Danny (Willett) and a couple of the other guys ahead of me (in the Race to Dubai). So just really some keeping my irons sort of stuff. I mean, Sean Foley flew over and we did spend a few hours working on it, but nothing that we're changing at this point."

SOUNDBITE (English) Justin Rose, English golfer:

"Last year was a really interesting tournament for me, I was like - I forget exactly the numbers, but I was four-over through the first seven holes of the tournament and then sort of went on a tear from there and was 20-something-under for the next X-amount of holes. And then on Sunday it got pretty blowy and tricky and I think I bogeyed the last to miss a play-off, but hopefully it's a course that does suit my irons, a course you have to drive the ball well on. Distance definitely helps around here so hopefully I'll be able to drive the ball well."

SOUNDBITE (English) Henrik Stenson, Swedish golfer:

"It was better. I didn't play well in Malaysia two weeks ago, and the first couple of days in Sheshan (at the WGC-HSBC Champions) wasn't the best either, but I started going in the right direction and had a good weekend and moved up to a pretty good finish. So hopefully I can start off a little bit quicker here."

SOUNDBITE (English) Henrik Stenson, Swedish golfer:

"It's always tricky to play in windy conditions, you really need to control your ball flights. That's the main thing in wind, and it's down to how well you're playing and how well you're putting. So hopefully I can get a bit quicker out of the blocks and move my way up and be there on Sunday."

SOUNDBITE (English) Marcel Siem, German golfer and reigning BMW Masters champion:

"It's not my best season in my career - this year - unfortunately, so I'm really looking forward to have a kick-start here and getting confidence back. For sure, I'm going to try to win this one. The BMW (Masters) has never had a player who wins it two times in a row, so I'll give everything for that."
