  • Novak Djokovic became the first man to win six ATP Masters 1000 titles in a year as he beat Andy Murray 6-2 6-4 to win the Paris Masters for the fourth time.

Novak Djokovic met Andy Murray in the final of the Paris Masters looking to extend his winning run to 22 matches.

Murray, sporting a poppy on his tennis shirt on Remembrance Sunday in the United Kingdom, struggled early on with Djokovic breaking for a 2-1 lead.

The world number three was having to produce his very best just to stay in touch with Djokovic who was running down almost everything in trademark fashion.

The errors were flowing from Murray's racket as Djokovic went on to take the first set 6-2.

The world number one broke early in the second set but showed he was human as he left a Murray sliced forehand which bounced in to bring up break points for the Scot.

Murray broke for the first time and gave himself hope with some aggressive tennis.

But the Serb recovered to break again to lead 4-3, before going on to win 6-2 6-4 becoming the first man to win six ATP Masters 1000 titles in a year and clinch his fourth Paris Masters crown.

He is now 27-4 against top 10 opponents in 2015 and he has won 10 of his last 11 meetings with Murray.
