Venus Williams and Karolina Pliskova grabbed their second wins of the Round Robin stage to reach the last four of the Elite Trophy in Zhuhai.

After beating Madison Keys in her opening round robin match Venus Williams knew a win here would take her into the semi-finals of the Elite Trophy in Zhuhai.

She was 5-1 down against Zheng Saisai in the first game though, she did pull it back to 5-4 but Zheng went on to win this game for a one-love lead.

Williams then launched a fight back, and how.

She dropped just two games over the next two sets to turn the match on it's head.

Zheng impressed though Williams said afterwards that she is a future champion.

Karolina Pliskova also knew a win today would take her into the semi-finals and she was clearly motivated. She took the first set of her match against Sara Errani to love.

And she dropped just three games in the second for a straight sets win.

Elsewhere, Caroline Wozniaki's tournament is over after she withdrew with a wrist injury. She retired midway through the second set of her match with Svetlana Kuznetsova.
