Reaction from England captain Alastair Cook after his side were beaten by 127 runs by Pakistan in the Third Test in Sharjah - losing the three-match series 2-0.

"Well I think it's clear at the moment we haven't got world-class spinners and that's quite obvious to see. It doesn't mean they can't develop into it. A lot of it is a bit of luck. When we came to 2012 in India we had two of the best spinners in the world at the top of their games and we won a series in India because pretty much of Swanny (Graeme Swann) and Monty (Panesar) the way they bowled. We know the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) and everyone knows that there is an issue, we're not quite developing at the moment but there's a real opportunity for people to work incredibly hard and push their name forward."

SOUNDBITE (English) Alastair Cook, England captain (on his side's fragile batting):

"To lose four for 20 out there wasn't quite good enough and we keep doing it so when the pressure comes on ... It is hard, there's no doubt it, starting your innings on a fifth day wicket against those two bowlers is incredibly hard there's no doubt about it, Rooty's (Joe Root) one you couldn't do anything about. I'm not going to say it's easy but for us to get better, to go up the rankings, to win away from home, we can't allow that to happen. The guys are disappointed. I hate the words 'You'll learn from it', you have to learn from it especially in conditions like here when we come back to say India and Bangladesh next winter, the conditions will be similar because I thought these were real sub-continent conditions. These three Test matches were very different to 2012. We'll see then - in general, I think our batting has improved in terms of the way we've played. As I said when the pressure came on in Dubai, we weren't good enough and when the pressure was tough here this morning we weren't good enough."
