Tomas Berdych and Richard Gasquet advance to the third round of the ATP 1000 Paris Masters on Wednesday (4th November).

Fifth-seeded Tomas Berdych took on qualifier Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the ATP 1000 Paris Masters and would have been hoping for an easy route into the third round of the competiton.

It didnt all go Berdych's way and he eventually saw off his French counterpart 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 to advance to the next round where he will face the winner of Jo Wilfried-Tsonga and Roberto Bautista Agut.

Another Frenchman fared better with Richard Gasqet defeating Leonardo Mayer of Argentina 6-2, 7-5.

Gasquet next faces Kei Nishikori, who progressed to the third round after a 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (6-8), 6-1 win over Jeremy Chardy.
