Radwanska celebrates WTA Finals win

    Agnieszka Radwanska showed off her new silverware on Monday following her 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 victory over fourth seeded Petra Kvitova in the WTA Finals in Singapore.

    The fifth seeded Pole's previous best at the WTA Tour's season ending championship was the semi-final stage in 2012 and 2014.

    Radwanska became the first player to the win the tournament despite having a losing record in the round robin stage.

    Furthermore, she became the first champion not to have won a Grand Slam title since Amelie Mauresmo in 2005.

    The Frenchwoman won the Australian Open and Wimbledon the following year, and Radwanska will be aiming to follow in her footsteps

    "I still really can't believe that it just happened. Well it was the biggest day and I'm just extremely happy. It couldn't be any better and of course I celebrated last night. It was a long night, but I definitely deserve it."
