SOUNDBITE (English) Ian Bell, England batsman: (on the match situation after lunch and his intention to bat through to tea with James Taylor)

"Yeah, like I've said, that's how I try to go about my work, within the team as well, within the dressing room and yeah, I felt like I recognised that, certainly after lunch, when they had that reverse (swing), they were going to go hard with that, you know, the two left armers came in, giving it everything, so for me it was about giving them nothing. We saw in Dubai how that changed the game - they got four wickets in a very short period of time, put us right on the back foot. We could have been in a similar situation if we hadn't got through that, but as I've said, we recognised that, myself and 'Titch' (James Taylor) to give us a position, certainly after tea, to cash in and score a bit quicker, so hopefully tomorrow we can do exactly the same."

SOUNDBITE (English) Ian Bell, England batsman: (on James Tayor's innings - 74 not out - and his abilities as a batsman and his return to the England Test side)

"Yeah look, he (James Taylor) played brilliantly today. I mean, that was a great way to go out and start again, I suppose. No, he's somebody, having watched him a lot on this Tour, but also played (England) Lions cricket with him, you know, this kind of cricket, he is a very good player of spin, really quick feet and obviously he's shown today that he's a very good sweeper of the ball as well, so it's exactly what he would have liked, I'm sure he's sat in there very happy and so he should be. I really enjoyed batting with him as well, the way he was busy was fantastic, but I think it shows as well good character to go back to county cricket, to grind out runs, shown what he can do in the One-Day series against Australia. With any opportunity he's had, he's grabbed it, so hopefully this is a start for him of kicking on. Having watched him for a while, as I've said, playing with him in Lions cricket, he got a lot of ability and hopefully now, we're going to see that over the next few years."
