    Script:

Agnieszka Radwanska and Petra Kvitova met in the final of the WTA Finals in Singapore on Sunday.

Kvitova had won six of their previous eight meetings but it was the Pole who made the stronger start, breaking in the opening game before taking the first set 6-2.

With the Czech struggling, Radwanska broke in the opening game of the second set.

But back came the twice-Wimbledon champion who broke to love to level at 3-3.

And she broke again, taking the set 6-4 to force a decider.

As both players dropped serve early in the third, it was Radwanska who prevailed.

In doing so, Radwanska moved above Kvitova into fifth place in the year-end world rankings.

She confounded the odds to take the title here - she had lost her first two round-robin matches to Maria Sharapova and Flavia Pennetta.

Her next target will be a first Grand Slam triumph with the Australian Open starting in Melbourne on January 18th.
