Victor Dubuisson wins Turkish Open in style

  • France's Victor Dubuisson broke down in tears after producing a brilliant finish to win the Turkish Airlines Open for the second time in three years in Antalya on Sunday (1 November).

    Script:

Bright blue skies welcomed the players for the final round of Turkish leg of the European tour on Sunday.

Rory Mcllroy had to shoot low if he was to challenge the lead. The now World No.3 finished with a disappointing 1-under 71 and tied sixth at 16-under.

Jaco Van Zyl shot a mesmeric 11-under 61 on Thursday and was at it again in the final round.

After holing here at six the South African held a two shot lead over Victor Dubuisson.

However, the always watchable Frenchman was even for the day going through nine, yet fired a quite brilliant back 9.

First at 10 he somehow saved par from the trees.

On the following hole he got down in three for an eagle. And that brought him to 19-under tied with Van Zyl.

Two more birdies followed and two from Van Zyl meaning Dubuisson needed this to secure the Turkish title.

But you wouldn't have known it judging by Dubuisson's coolness over the putt.

And with it his second European Tour title.
