Blue Bay LPGA: Kim retains joint-lead

Sunday, November 01 2015 by SNTV
  • Kim Sei-young stays at the top of the Blue Bay LPGA leaderboard after the third round in China. However the South Korean overnight leader is now joined in first place by Candie Kung of Taiwan. World number three Stacy Lewis of America climbs from joint-sixth to outright third in the table after a one-over round of 73.

    Script:

Kim Sei-young held on to her lead at the Blue Bay LPGA but the South Korean is now joined in first place by Candie Kung of Taiwan after the third round.

The blustering conditions and heavily undulating greens at the lengthy Jian Lake Blue Bay Course meant only four players shot sub-par rounds.

Overnight leader Kim produced a two-over-par round of 74 to sign for a 216 level-par total.

Kung climbed from joint-second to the outright advantage in China after a birdie at the 14th took her to two-under.

But a bogey at the last left the 34-year-old with a one-over 73 and a share of the lead.

World number three Stacy Lewis rose from tied in sixth to outright third in the table after a one-over round of 73.

The American picked up a rare birdie on the 14th but was frustrated on the next when a birdie which would have given her a share of the lead stopped on the edge of the hole.

Lewis will hope for better luck in Sunday's final round.
