"Well we've got to come back with the attitude that we can survive the day tomorrow. I thought the way that (Ian) Bell and (Joe) Root this afternoon and this evening was excellent. Talking to Belly, he thinks there is spin, obviously there is spin there, but it is a reasonably slow spin at this stage. The odd one spat out of the rough, but I thought the way that the two of them and the way that they played against Wahab (Riaz) was particularly impressive and that's something we've got to learn from yesterday. We had a very poor session yesterday morning and we've got to make sure that our batters don't make the same mistake twice and I thought that's where the two of them today showed that if you play yourself and you're very clear in how you're looking to play you can survive on that pitch. So we've got to believe that we can turn up tomorrow and survive the day and we've also got to show that we can learn quickly and players have to learn from mistakes made in the first innings."

"I'm not aware of any injury other than the fact that I think the amount of hours he spent hunched over a bat handle scoring thousands of runs. He never looks the best mover anyway, so I've never really seen him flying around, so that's why he's made such a success at slip catching. Obviously with the whack on the hand that he got he's been out of the slips, so perhaps it's shown up a little bit more because he's not been in the slips as often in this game."

"As has been mentioned he is someone that from time to time does get treatment on his back. But look honestly it's not something that we are spending time talking about, he needs to manage himself and look after himself, he does that really well. Throughout the Sri Lankan tour he was in the pool and swimming and I am sure he has a very clear regime of how he looks after himself. So it isn't a concern for us."
