Justin Rose wins Hong Kong Open

  • Justin Rose finished one shot clear of Denmark's Lucas Bjerregaard to win the Hong Kong Open on Sunday (25th October).

    Script:

Another perfect day for scoring at the Hong Kong Open on Sunday.

There was a four way share for third place - with Asian Tour rookie Lee Soomin firing a final round of 64 to surge up the leaderboard.

American Patrick Reed also finished on eleven under par overall - a good result on his first visit to Hong Kong.

Matthew Fitzpatrick notched up another top three place in the European Tour - the Englishman has had more than any other player this season - as he finished with a final round of 69.

Jason Scrivener came agonisingly close to a card-retaining score - the Australian finishing with a 68 - eleven under good, but not good enough.

But the battle for the title was a straight fight between Lucas Bjerregaard and Justin Rose.

Just as in the third round, the pair traded birdies throughout the day.

But a double bogey at fourteen was to cost Bjerregaard dear.

The Dane finished with a one under par score of 69 to leave him 16 under overall.

    Rose though was one better.

The Englishman once again showed superb course management in a final round of 68.

An eighth win on the European Tour for Justin Rose.
