Top-seeded David Ferrer routed fellow Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-1, 6-1 at the Erste Bank Open in the Austrian capital, Vienna.
Ferrer saved two break points early in the opening set of which this long rally was one.
Ferrer then went on to convert five of eight chances on Garcia-Lopez's serve.
The second set was a similar affair and the ninth-ranked Ferrer closed out the win and he'll next play Fabio Fognini, who beat Czech veteran Radek Stepanek 6-1, 6-4.
