Windy conditions greeted the field as the LPGA Taiwan Championship teed off at the Miramar Golf and Country Club.

Local favourite and former champion Yani Tseng started strong with a birdie on eight that took her to one-under before she went on to finish with an even-par 72.

On the other hand, world number three Stacy Lewis was perhaps ruffled by the wind and had a difficult day, struggling to a five-over 77 that left the American 11 shots off the lead.

Lydia Ko is three shots adrift after finishing with birdie on 18 for an opening 69 but given the breeze to contend with, she wasn't discouraged by her result.
