England's Andy Sullivan moved out in front on his own at the Portugal Masters on Friday - after a second successive 64 at the Oceanico Victoria Golf Club.
The 29-year-old, who is aiming to become the first player to win three European Tour events this season after victories in South Africa, set the clubhouse lead at 14-under to gain a three-stroke lead over the chasing pack at the halfway stage
That put him four ahead of his nearest rival and seven ahead of fellow overnight co-leader Nicolas Colsaerts, who was among the afternoon starters.
Scoring was low again among the early groups with Austrian Bernd Wiesberger grabbing a share of third at 10-under, and he produced the shot of the day as part of his round at the second hole.
Southport's Tommy Fleetwood reached nine-under with a 64 of his own that fired him into joint-fifth.
South Africa's Hennie Otto made a significant move with a round of 65 to catapult him into the top 10.
With round two still taking place, organisers announced that bad weather expected at the weekend has forced them to schedule a shotgun start - groups teeing off on all 18 holes from 8 am - on day three.
