SOUNDBITE (English) Roy Hodgson, England manager:

"I'm not trying to change perception on the World Cup. We lost the first two games and that basically finished us off. This is the 45th game I had I think but the two games in the World Cup were the vital ones. But I don't know if those two games gave me concerns or fears that we couldn't start and win the next one. I think I did believe the team would be good enough to go and win the team matches. It was a too big goal to set. But we said that there are good players in here and we are getting more and more of them. We are not totally depending on 11 players, there is more than that. And if we play well with focus and continue to try and get better we could go and win it all. But qualification would have been the most important thing. We would be perfectly happy if we had qualified with six wins and four draws as well. Because now we have a lot of work to do and prepare for the tournament."
