After a surprising 2-0 loss to Ecuador on home soil, Argentina go to their second World Cup qualifying match in desperate need of a victory against Paraguay.

The defeat was the first time in over 20 years that Argentina had lost at River Plate's stadium, calling into question their status as the world's No 1 ranked team.

The squad, led by head coach Gerardo Martino, held a training session in the morning at their headquarters in Buenos Aires.

They then made their way to Luque on the outskirts of Asuncion on Monday night, 24 hours before the decisive clash.

Argentina have developed a habit of losing big games: they've reached three of the last four Copa finals and not won any of them. They also put in a tepid performance in the World Cup final last summer.

Local media reported that Martino might make five changes to the team that started at Estadio Monumental de Nunez.

Predicted changes include Carlos Tevez coming in for Sergio Aguero - the Manchester City striker faces a month on the sidelines through injury after he pulled a hamstring early on against Ecuador.
