Mark Webber and Timo Bernhard, driving the No.17 Porsche 919 Hybrid, took an excellent pole position for the sixth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at Fuji Speedway on Saturday.

Securing their third pole start of the 2015 season, after another thrilling qualifying session, Bernhard and Webber set a combined average of 1:22.763s to head their pursuers.

Webber's best was the fastest LMP1 lap ever recorded at Fuji - 1:22.639.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Mark Webber, Pole Position:

"Yeah, look...it went well. It is not an easy track to get everything together to be honest. Time management is quite tricky, even on putting the first three sectors together and you have got two drivers as well and they have to do the job. So, in the end it worked out well. 17, we are happy with that. Also a point for the championship so that certainly helps."
