SOUNDBITE (English) Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager: (Question - How difficult do you think it will be to win the Premier League?)

"Good question. I think this is one of the biggest problems you have here in Liverpool, maybe on the island (England). For sure, the Premier League is one of the most difficult leagues in the world because five, six, seven clubs can be the champions. At the end only one is the champion, and all the others, they are disappointed, they live in the middle of a disaster, or something like this (that). So I think the most important moment for development, and we have to develop of course, not because of the situation now, because of the situation in the last years, (the fact) we have to develop is the start. This would be a good moment for a re-start, a really good moment. It's not important in this moment who is at the end of the season the winner of the Premiership (Premier League). Nobody knows - Premier League, sorry. Nobody knows. It's only important that we play our own game, that the players feel the confidence and the trust of the people. Yesterday I spoke to LFC TV, it's a real important thing that the player feels the difference from now on. Of course they have a new coach from another country, all new things, but they have to think that they can reach the expectations of all the other people, of all the fans, of all the press, or whatever. So if somebody wants to help, you have to change from a doubter to a believer. It's a very important thing, we have to start together new and then we will see what will happen this year. We have to change our performance, of course, because nobody is satisfied at this moment, but sometimes you are not satisfied only because you don't see the big steps in development. You wait because of all the money they spend, and all these things, so stop thinking about money. It's (there's) really no reason in this moment not to only think about football, and if you want to enjoy the game you have to be prepared for this. You have to come to the stadium and you want to see something good, a fighting spirit. You want to see many sprints, may shots, all these things you want to see. And if you see this, then the result is only the result of these things. That's what we work for."

SOUNDBITE (English) Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager:

"I don't think I understood the question because of the...(to photographers) can you stop until the lady has finished?"

(Question -You had such a grand reception here today, is it all a little bit surreal, has the news that you are the new Liverpool manager sunk in?)

"Yeah of course it's surreal, absolutely. But I have to accept (it). I woke up this morning and yesterday night we signed the contract and this morning I was manager of Liverpool FC. I don't care about things like this, I don't think to much about press or things like this, I'm really a normal football manager and I want to work with the team, I want to be on the pitch and all these things. And that's, all over the world, similar. Of course, some things are different, but I'm prepared for this because of my experience in all the things, in the other clubs, and my experience as a player. So I'm prepared, but of course this is absolutely crazy, what happened here. That's what I wanted to say: when I left (Borussia) Dortmund, my last sentence maybe was 'it's not so important what people think when you come in, it's much more important what people think when you leave.' And please give us the time to work on it, to think much more positive than today. About me and about all the people at LFC. If we want, this could be a real special day. If we want. And if we are prepared to work for it, if you are patient enough, all these things. If you want, then we can start in a very difficult league, with opponents that are big and big and bigger, maybe, but in a special Liverpool way, we can be successful. We can wait for it of course, but I don't want to say we have to wait the next 20 years and I'm sitting here again. When I'm sat here in four years, I think we've won one title in this time. I'm pretty sure. If not, the next one, maybe Switzerland..."

SOUNDBITE (English) Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager: (Question - There have been many managers here that have become legends, do you think you could do that?)

"I told you, I'm a normal guy from Black Forest and I'm don't compare myself with these genius managers in the history of Liverpool. I don't think about this. It's really not important. It's cool that you are all looking forward, not all of you maybe, but all the fans of Liverpool are looking forward to the work for the next few months and years with me, it's really cool. But it's not my part to think about this. I only have to work. No one of these great managers said at his first press conference 'my target or my goal is that I want to be a legend at the end of my working time here.' So I don't think about this. This is a great club because of many, many good decisions in the past. Good players, brilliant players, and now we have to work in the present."
