Former world number one Yani Tseng was off to a good start as the Taiwanese star shot a five-under-par opening round of 66 and she meant business from the off with this approach to the first.

Defending champion Shanshan Feng fired four birdies in her first six holes including this on the third, before dropping a shot on the final hole, which cost her a share of the lead.

Michelle Wie and Chella Choi also joined the four-way tie at third.

A three hour weather delay also ensued with the restart taking Lydia Ko by surprise as well as Wie.

Two young golfers, 19-year-old Xiyu Lin of China and 20-year-old Alison Lee, were both at the top of the leaderboard at the end of the day.

This at 15 was one of seven Lin birdieson her way to carding a six-under-par 65.

And Lee, who is in her rookie year, joined the Chinese youngster as the overnight leader after another opening round of 65 with seven birdies and one bogey.
