England Test captain Alastair Cook and coach Trevor Bayliss spoke on Friday (2nd October), ahead of the team's match against Pakistan in the UAE.
Script:
England have several selection decisions to make ahead of taking on Pakistan on their tour of the UAE.
Captain Alastair Cook also admits that conditions will be difficult for bowling given the high temperatures, but remained confident his players could adapt.
SOUNDBITE Alastair Cook:
"Absolutely, I mean, we will get used to it, but it is very warm and it's part of the conditions we've got to face. That's the same for both sides, probably Pakistan are a bit more used to it than we are. We'll be fine, just a bit of sweat, blood and tears for the first bit."
A question mark remains over Cook's partner as part of England's opening pair, with Moeen Ali and Alex Hales both in the frame.
Cook will find himself walking out his seventh opening partner following Andrew Strauss' retirement - and the axing of Adam Lyth after a poor display in the Ashes.
Regardless of who is picked, coach Trevor Bayliss is confident that his youthful side would be able to transfer their enthusiasm into results
SOUNDBITE (English) Trevor Bayliss, England coach:
"Well, look, I think as I said before, any away team these days seem to be the underdogs and I think experience-wise as well, as Alastair said, we've got some young inexperienced players, but players with a lot of ability and a lot of skill. I think some of that youthful enthusiasm, combined with their skill, there's no reason why we can't play some good cricket, and if we play some good cricket we'll be hard to beat."
England lost to Pakistan 3-0 in their last test series in the UAE in three years ago, but will be hopeful of avenging that this time around.
