Reaction from the victorious USA team as they staged a remarkable comeback to retake the Solheim Cup in Sankt Leon-Rot, Germany, on Sunday (20th September), beating Europe 14 and-a-half points to 13 and-a-half

    Script:

Question: "Wow! What a day of golf that was. At one stage it looked like it was in the bag for Europe, but what a fightback from the States."

    SOUNDBITE (English) Brittany Lincicome, USA:

"Yeah, it was crazy. It's just the way golf goes, you never know what's going to happen and this year, I felt our team, we came together more this year than any year I've ever been on a team before and you could really tell that we were doing it for each other and for our captain Juli (Inkster), you know, we lover her so much and we wanted to do good for her, so we're pretty excited."

Question: "Experience in so important in team golf, isn't it? It's such an individual game, but gaining that bond gets you over that line."

"Absolutely. You've got to have heart and obviously a good golf game and some luck going your way. You could tell, Juli said to us last night 'Don't go play for me, go play for each other,' but you could tell we were definitely playing for her and we wanted to win for her."

Question: "Suzann Pettersen got a point earlier, but it was almost like two points for you for motivation."

"Yeah, Suzann's such a wonderful competitor. I mean, her coming down the stretch here, at seventeen, it could have gone either way, you never know. She is so awesome. But you know, it must just have been our day."

Question: "Wow! what a game of golf that was from you and the whole team. Wheat a feeling you must have right now to come over to Europe and get that cup back."

    SOUNDBITE (English) Michelle Wie, USA:

"yeah, we wanted that so badly. I'm so proud of my team and everyone on it. Definitely wasn't a one person effort. I'm, so proud of everyone, I mean Gerina's (Piller) putt, I mean, the ballsiest putt I've ever seen, Angela's (Stanford) point, I'm just so happy for her and so happy for everyone in our team."

Question: "The singles really have done it. At one stage it seemed that Europe would retain the cup, but what a fightback that was. What was the difference? Was it extra motivation from that incident earlier."

"You know, we just wanted to win the cup. That was our goal from the beginning and I just think that we just wanted it so badly. I think we willed each other, we willed our own putts in and it makes me really happy. I'm just so happy for everyone on our team."
