SuggestedLeadIn: Belgium reached their first Davis Cup final since 1904 after Steve Darcis came through in a tense deciding rubber against Argentinian Federico Delbonis in Brussels on Sunday (20th September).

Never mind Britain's 37 year wait for a Davis Cup final spot, Belgium were looking to end their 111 year absence.

It would have to be done the hard way though after they went down in the doubles on Saturday with Carlos Berlocq and Leonardo Mayer winning that one in four sets to leave Argentina 2-1 ahead on Sunday.

Diego Schwartzman stepped in for Argentina's highest ranked Mayer and gave David Goffin a pretty comfortable time of it.

Goffin took the first set 6-3, before the second followed with a 6-2 scoreline.

Goffin was moving through the gears in the third set as he consolidated his double break.

Before setting up a grandstand finale for a place in the final with this winner to level the tie at 2-all.

And into the second match up it was Steve Darcis of Belgium who took the opening set against Federico Delbonis.

But then facing double set point against his serve Darcis netted to leave the match at 1 set all.

The World No.64 stayed strong and served out the third to love.

Before another tight set followed in the fourth.

Here with Darcis at match point on advantage, Delbonis dug deep to send the game into a tiebreak.

The Belgian then had three points for it as he went on the charge.

And so the final will be a repeat of the Davis Cup final at Wimbledon back in 1904.
