Belgium's bid to reach a Davis Cup final for the first time in 111 years got off to a flying start as David Goffin overcame Argentina's Federico Delbonis 7-5, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 in the opening singles rubber in Brussels on Friday (18th September).
However, Leonardo Mayer brought Argentina level with Belgium at 1-1 when he beat Steve Darcis in the second match of their Davis Cup World Group semi-final tie in Brussels on Friday (18th September).

Belgium last reached a Davis Cup final in 1904 and David Goffin set them on track with the opening set 7-5 against Federico Delbonis, a man ranked 50 place below him in the world rankings,
The Belgium No.1 has risen impressively up the rankings this year and his fluid groundstrokes were beginning to dominate the Argentinean in Brussels.
The World No 15 had been a break down in the third, but came back to win in straight sets.
So with that Belgium were in good shape going to the second match.

Much like the opening rubber, there wasn't much between the pair.
Mayor though taking the first set on a tiebreaker when Darks went wide with a lob.
Mayor would take the second - again on a tiebreaker -before Darks hit back and clinched the third set 6-4.
Mayor though deserved the victory, winning on the aces count 24 to one.
The tie is now level at 1-apiece as Saturday sees the crucial doubles rubber.
