  • Timo Glock triumphed in race one of DTM Oschersleben on Saturday (12th September).

    Script:

After a delayed start due to fog, championship leader Matthias Ekstrom was forced to start the race from the last row due to a mechanical problem in qualifying in race one of DTM Oschersleben

In pole position was BMW driver Timo Glock - who stayed out in front once the lights went out.

Behind him though, Jamie Green spun and was hit by Robert Wickens.

That forced the safety car to be deployed as a total of six drivers were caught up and were forced to retire.

With much of the competition wiped out, Glock stayed out of trouble and eased to victory - his second win of the series.

Bruno Spengler and Antonio Felix da Costa completed the podium places in a BMW 1-2-3.

Ekstrom could only finish in fourteenth place and out of the points.

The result means that Pascal Wehrlein is the new championship leader.
