Canadian debutant Brooke Henderson celebrated her 18th birthday with a 1-under-par round of 70 round before being greeted with cake shortly after walking off the 18th green.

"I was a little more jittery then I normally am. I think it was just excitement, but I tried to control it and I did pretty well with that. I felt a little bit throughout the day, but I just tried to use it as momentum."

"Five under today was a great score and when I saw that on the board I knew it was gettable, but you have to be very careful around some of the greens here. Especially good tee shots is important because the rough is getting extremely long. If I can continue to do what I'm doing and hopefully make a few putts tomorrow and see if I can climb up the leaderboard a little bit."
